With her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto and over 16 years of counseling experience, Kim’s therapy approach is encouraging, motivating and practical. She uses concrete methods in applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to anxious and depressive moods. She believes that self-talk and lifestyle routines play a key role in successfully managing emotions and through learning to change our mindsets we can overcome and manage many unpleasant thoughts. When we adapt a more positive, balanced perspective, our feelings and behaviours follow.
Kim believes that past hurts and traumas can be used as a powerful ally to produce a newfound freedom as we bravely walk through our pain to find our new restored purpose. With the right guidance and interventions, people can change and live a life of JOY.
